Proximity Equipment

Proximity Readers can be used for a variety of tasks including fast log-on to Exceed Touch Screens and Versaterms and can be used to replace keys to control access to areas within a venue like staff rooms, cool rooms, dry stores and even fridges.

 

By simply waving the pre-programmed wristband over the reader staff are no longer required to manually key in passwords at the POS unit. This super fast log on allows staff to finalize their sale and move on to your next customer swiftly and with a minimum of fuss especially during busy periods.

 

Proximity equipment will also put an end to staff accidentally entering incorrect logon passwords due to them being rushed. And, by ensuring each of your employees has their own proximity band, tracking and tracing sales by particular staff members is easy and accurate, thus making staff more accountable and till reconciliations easier. Their use in this role enables tighter stock control and promotes greater staff responsibilities.

 

How it works

The readers work by picking up the highly secure code that is embedded in the tags which are available in Wristbands, Key Fobs or Cards. Employees wear the tag and are recognised instantly when in range of the Proximity Reader.

 

The user is then validated based on the rights granted to the holder of that tag.

 

These rights could be access to a certain areas within Point of Sale Software such as Managers Pages and can also be used to replace keys to control access to areas within a venue like staff rooms, cool rooms, dry stores and even fridges.

Door access control can manage and record every entry to the cool room with a simple proximity reader in conjunction with magnetic locks. The system can restrict access to staff all the way down to shift and roster times, and it can record the identity of every person in and out of your secured areas.

 

As there are no moving parts, the readers are super durable and the tags are easy to set up, reusable and hard-wearing.

 

This technology offers great security advantages and reporting that a key based system cannot match.
