H&L Awarded "Mobotix Solution of the Year 2008"
H&L Australia has always prided itself on bringing new technologies and innovations to the Point of Sale industry to offer it's clients the best, and assure them of making the right decision on selecting H&L as their provider.
One such technology is the Mobotix IP Camera surveillance. As industry leaders in their own right they also look to align themselves with integrators who can add value to their own product as well as the Mobotix product. H&L have successfully integrated with the Mobotix cameras to record an Exceed transaction, view a Mobotix camera from Exceed anywhere in the venue, and allow footage to be replayed on demand from the Audit Trail with the transaction detail embedded in the footage. See more details here.
At an awards dinner hosted by Mobotix during the Partner conference, H&L were extremely proud to be awarded "Solution of the Year for 2008". This acknowledgment is a great credit to our Programming Department and stake holders in making this advanced technology easy to use for the client.

Tuesday 3rd February 09 - Restaurant & Catering Australia Media Release
|
RESTAURANTS WILL BENEFIT FROM THE LATEST STIMULUS PACKAGE
Restaurant & Catering Australia, the peak national association that represents the interests of the 40,000 restaurateurs and caterers in Australia congratulates the Government on another substantial stimulus package.
Meals out accounted for $28 Billion in sales in 2008 which was only marginally below 2007. The restaurant , cafe and catering industry is weathering the storm well but a kick to the economy is always welcome.
Peter Doye, President of Restaurant & Catering Australia said 'the small business tax break, allowing an additional deduction for captial expenditure may just be what our small businesses need to convince them to buy that new piece of equipment in this market'.
'Most of our businesses fit easily in the small business under $2 Million turnover category so will receive maximum benefit from the measure. There is no doubt that businesses have held off anything other than the essential spending on staff and quality produce at time like this'. He went on to say.
The stimulus package also contained a number of cash payments that will see their way into the hands of restaurant consumers. John Hart, CEO of the Association said that 'consumers now spend nearly 10% of their household income on meals out (on average) and these additional payments, which will come just prior to the next school holidays, will be spent in restaurants and cafes.
The hospitality industry is a very labour intensive industry. Spending in restaurants is a very efficient way to create or maintain employment. Restaurant & Catering Australia welcomes the package and looks forward to maximising the return from the measures for the industry.

Monday 23rd June 2008 - H&L Goes Back to School (NSW)
|
| Over the past 30 years, William Blue College of Hospitality and Tourism has become New South Wales' premier school for Hospitality students.
H&L are proud to have been chosen by William Blue as the hospitality solution of choice to be installed into their very popular North Sydney student-run commercial 70-seat restaurant.
The fully licensed Brasserie is where Sysnet 7 will be used as a training tool by lecturers and students will benefit from "real life" scenario's which will give them more skills in the hospitality workforce.
The reason behind William Blue choosing to install Sysnet over other POS providers is the lecturers believe the quality of the product and functionality along with H&L service is ahead of others.
H&L have in turn agreed to sponsor the school with free software licenses and upgrades as we believe the school will develop excellent potential candidates for the hospitality workforce in the local and international community.

Wednesday 22 August 2007 – Changes to the Liquor Act (WA)
|
Recent changes to the Liquor Act will see all beverage staff trained in the responsible service of alcohol.
Licensees will be required to keep a register of all staff for 7 years including;
- Name
- Date of employment
- Training Course Provider
- State or Territory of training
- Date of certificate or other qualification
- Copy of certificate
That’s a lot of paperwork!
Let us to introduce Workforce Management - not only will this system make complying with the Liquor Act a breeze it will save time and money with critical rostering information at the touch of a button.
Gain Greater Control
Over a dozen reports, easy to access, easy to understand and, specifically designed for the hospitality industry
- Spend less time creating, adjusting and costing staff rosters
- Calculates forecast hourly sales from history
- Allows rostering against forecast sales
- Calculates breaks, on costs and applicable loading
- Displays wage cost percentage
- See what was worked compared to what was rostered
Rostering the right staff, in the right areas, for the right amount of time ensures that costs are kept to the absolute minimum. The system automatically calculates breaks, on costs and any applicable loading. It then displays the wage cost percentage. It even gives warnings if costs are likely to exceed pre set limits, enabling managers to make staffing and cost decisions during roster creation, not when wages are being paid.
